In Japan, when a warrior becomes truly skilled — beyond what any human teacher can offer — they are said to have been taught by a Tengu.
The Tengu is not a demon. It is not a god. It exists in the space between — a mountain spirit of impossible ability, ancient arrogance, and the kind of power that comes from spending centuries perfecting a single thing. The long nose is not ridiculous. It is the mark of pride so complete it became physical form.
The most famous Tengu in Japanese history taught the warrior Minamoto no Yoshitsune everything he knew about combat — the footwork, the blade work, the ability to read an opponent before they moved. When Yoshitsune became a legend, the Tengu who taught him remained in the mountains. The master is always less famous than the student. That is the nature of mastery.
This mask carries that tradition in its form.
